...yesterday.In the first picture what looks like a lighthouse is actually a monument to honour a local man Sir John Barrow who was second in command in the Admiralty.The locals call the monument ''The Pepperpot'' The Hill is called ''The Hoad'' Please check out the downloads.

Wonderful landscape, makes me homesick even though I was only in a similar environment for a couple years during my youth.

Nice series, Angler. I really enjoy seeing historical sites like that fallen stone wall, which--given the area's close location to the sea--was clearly built to keep the Vikings out. It looks to be only three feet high or so, but one must remember that, due to poor nutrition, people were much shorter in those days, and as such, it would have been a formidable obstacle.
