If Trump believes he is vulnerable to prosecution after leaving the White House, he may want a promise of Pardon from Pence before voluntarily vacating ahead of the expiration of his term.

I know it is far-fetched if you believe he is innocent. Of course many here believe he can “win” by being in office/re-elected when the statute of limitations expires (2022) while he is in office for his second term, thus avoiding prosecution. How is that for motivation for winning another term? Lol

My guess he will struggle with the choice of facing the embarrassment of resigning versus the risk of losing an election and certain prosecution.

I believe he will bet on winning re-election.

Trump's conundrum is that many of the nefarious actions being investigated by the Southern District of NY are not federal crimes - and if he is indicted on those charges he cannot be pardoned. So his only defense is to stay president as long as possible.

All of the nefarious actions are being committed by the liberals who are terrified of losing their stolen power.

Yup. It would be a good plan to read Mueller's report. But you have to be willing to accept it's conclusions with some modicum of comprehension. That seems to be an elusive challenge for ya.

Directly from the Mueller report...

On May 17, 2017, Acting Attorney General Rosenstein appointed Robert S. Mueller, IIT as
Special Counsel and authorized him to conduct the Russia investigation and matters that arose
from the investigation.°! The President learned of the Special Counsel’s appointment from
Sessions, who was with the President, Hunt, and McGahn conducting interviews for a new FBI
Director. Sessions stepped out of the Oval Office to take a call from Rosenstein, who told him
about the Special Counsel appointment, and Sessions then returned to inform the Presidentof the
news.°? According to notes written by Hunt, when Sessions told the President that a Special
Counsel had been appointed, the President slumped back in his chair and said, “Oh my God. This
is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I’m fucked.”°** The President became angry and
lambasted the Attorney General for his decision to recuse from the investigation, stating, “How
could you let this happen, Jeff”°> The President said the position of Attorney General was his
most important appointment and that Sessions had “let [him] down,” contrasting him to Eric
Holder and Robert Kennedy.°°° Sessions recalled that the President said to him, “you were
supposed to protect me,” or words to that effect.°°’ The President returned to the consequences of
the appointment and said, “Everyone tells me if you get one of these independent counsels it ruins
your presidency. It takes years and years and I won’t be able to do anything. This is the worst
thing that ever happened to me.”
I see that we have another sucker for fake news...... (show quote)

"Contrasting to Eric Holder and Robert Kennedy" says a lot. Those two spent all of the political and legal tender protecting the sitting President rather than doing their jobs. That Trump expected that behavior from his AG speaks both to the fallibility of Trump's logic and to the corruption both tolerated and EXPECTED in DC. As to the 'f-ed' comment, there is no proof of guilt. It's just as likely Trump felt he would be crippled by a never-ending campaign from both investigators and media. Can't imagine why he'd consider this a political ploy...... especially since there was never collusion and the original FISA warrants were based on documentation known to me false.

First, per the Mueller report there is zero reason for a pardon.

Second, the issues with SDNY are not pardonable, so it’s a non issue.

Here is my guess. You lib fascist socialist dems keep beating the drum and going after Trump when there is NOTHING there, you will lose big time in elections. Americans are sick of this dem stupidity. Do you think Americans wake up and hope for the undoing to Trump. No, that is what lib fascist socialist dems do. Go ahead, start impeachment proceedings. Moderate and centrist dems will stampede away from this lunacy.

For the record, it does not and will never matter what the report said, you guys are like a pit bull, your jaws are locked on, and you will keep going, but this is going to back fire big time. You think Americans are sick of a booming economy, jobs, etc? No, they are sick of whiny, crying dems.

This is a good example of fake news being swallowed by gullible and useful idiots.
You read the totally wrong meaning of this small snippet of the whole comment and the real meaning. But that is typical of brain dead losers.

Lib fascist socialist dems ignore the fact that Trump could have claimed executive privelage and redacted any thing that made him look unflattering. Trump left it all in there. It shows he is human.
