Using someone like Jagger as an example in any healthcare analysis is really twisted; and leads nowhere.
Poor people need preventative health care.

What preventative health care? It is non existent under socialized medicine.

You have no idea how the health system works everyone can use it but private health care still exists if you wish to use it. Could it be that Jaggers reason for using the US health system is that he was in the States and it was a heart problem which needed urgent treatment. You stick with your rip off system where doctors treat you to increase their bank balance and if you are poor you get poor treatment. Everyone pays national insurance out of their wages every wage packet and now I'm getting older it sure pays off

If socialized government control of healthcare is so great, why doesn’t Mick Jagger wait in that one year line to get his heart done there??

Why does he come to the US???

Perhaps we have real medicine here. It’s getting worse but still beats jaggers actual country’s healthcare system.

Once Bernie gets it in place, there’s no way he’ll use it. All the rich elite socialists will fly off to a non socialist country for medical care.

Just ask Bernie why he doesn't fly to Venezuela for his medical care.

But just think - in the UK ANYONE who needs their heart "done" can actually HAVE IT DONE, regardless of their financial or social status, and the queue can actually be arrangned according to NEED and not to POWER or MONEY!

And by the way - the vast majority of heart surgery in the US is done as part of our socialist health care system called Medicare!

People like you all you care about is money, money and I have my to hell with other people med problems. Do you known that good old US is rank 27 in the world for med help for it people. Couldn't agree with you more boberic. I realize this is an oversimplification but I can't imagine how anyone would want some green visored civil servant deciding what care he or she will or will not be authorized to get.

That’s a lie. I show folks how Medicare works. D is the prescription program under Original Medicare. Medicaid are benefits for the folks under a certain income threshold.

Shame on you.

What I see is folks making the wrong choice with their Medicare that can cost them thousands of dollars in their retirement years. I help them make the best choice and stop giving their hard earned retirement money to hospitals. Now they can actually live happily ever after. Heck, I show them how to save money under D too.

You see, Mr. Clown. I’m a medicare expert.

When the Federal government gets involved in anything that can be done in the private sector, the costs skyrocket and quality goes to pot.

In the years before Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, etc., the poor did get health care. Doctors cared for them as pro bono, and there were "charity hospitals" which handled the cases and care of the poor.

As soon as the Feds got involved in the 1960's, doctors cut down on pro bono work. The poor then started using hospital ER's and critical care clinics as their "primary care" facilities. This is still done today. Even with Medicaid, poor people neglect preventive care, using emergency care, instead. My son is an ER technician, and he sees this every day.

This blather about Medicare/Medicaid "for all" is typical misogynistic BS. Bernie Sanders states that medical care will be cheap-to-no-cost. That may be true at point-of-service, but the upfront premium cost will soar, well over $10K per person. The Socialists are also banking on the ability to put a cap on what doctors earn, and what meds cost. Just how long will a doctor who spent over $200K to get his MD, stay in a profession that will limit his income to less than $100K annually? Those folks will abandon medicine and go to "Wall Street" and make real money. And, just what will fund the R&D costs for new drugs, especially those which treat cancer, and the need to treat illnesses at the gene/DNA level?

We have a shortage of doctors and other medical professionals (RN's, paramedics, etc.), and the supply isn't getting better.

We also have huge numbers of foreigners who go to our medical schools, ostensibly to get trained and go back to their home countries. Instead, they get their degrees, extend their Green Cards, and remain here, instead of going home and making nothing in their "Socialistic Edens".

Stop investing in open-ended optional wars and you can have national healthcare, upgrade the nation's infrastructure, invest in education and build a wall. This used to be called common sense.

Sorry, Tex.....if you were an America you would know that defense is in our constitution (healthcare isn’t) and that our spending as a percent of GDP is quite in line with history.

Many countries have a national healthcare system that works—- the US can as well. Obamacare was an imperfect start, that badly needed revision, and time to meet needs that are apparent.
What do Republicans, or Democrats want to do now in 2019 to fix this serious problem?
Trump, says he has the answer—after the election.

Really? That work? No lines, decreasing mortality rates? Please....show us.

It was better off for those who were fortunate enough to have health insurance. Many don’t, and we all pay later in emergency rooms etc.
Preventative care BEFORE people get sick would save millions

You mean the same emergency rooms that are even busier and more expensive now? Those emergency rooms?

Part A hospitalization - is paid for with 10 years working. So at 65 it’s free for most folks.

Part B Outpatient care - is deducted from Social security checks. If not, you can arrange for the deduction from your checking acct. that’s $135 a month for most Americans. That will get you 80/20% coverage. The best deal ever for that 80% coverage. Then get a supplement that covers the rest based on how you would like to.

Make sure the supplement covers ALL your preventive care. Medicare won’t cover or adequately cover that. Who wouldn’t want a proper annual physical exam covered.

Shame on me, People living in glass house should not throw rocks. You trash everything about people trying to get better med. cover, but you made a living at it. When I here that someone call them self an "expert" I looking for the door. I work for 11 years in the Bronx DA's office dealing with victim of crime, I do not think of my self as an "expert" in crime victim or the inner works of the DA's office or the inner works of NYPD both I had to deal with every day.

Huh? I can help you get better “med” if you’d ask nice. 11 years and you’re not great at your job? Seek education. Try harder.

Oh... show me precisely where I trash folks trying to do better.

Keep in mind many better higher rated businesses don’t do biz in NY. Not worth the aggravation. Ask Amazon for details.
