Is it really necessary for us to buy one in each range? Or, are just one or two suitable for most things? If you use them - please advise as to which length is better suited for YOUR purposes, and why you chose it.

I have the Canon 100mm macro and love it. Excellent image quality. A longer lens gives you more working distance.

The non-L version, you mean - right, Linda?

I suspect that's the better one - money-wise, anyway … but the L version is stabilized, which the non-L isn't.

But, I suppose - with Macro - it doesn't really matter that much ….
