I want to know what bags have worked and which haven't. I want to be able to put it under my seat or in the overhead of the smaller regional jets. Last time I had to gate check my Pelican 1510 and that doesn't set well with me.

I may be a little late on this, but here's what works for me. I bought my first DSLR 2 1/2 years ago, a Canon 80D from Amazon (from Digital Goja) and it came with a bunch of accessories, including a sling bag: https://digitalgoja.com/altura-photo-camera-sling-backpack-for-dslr-cameras.html If you are traveling a little light, this is a good and inexpensive choice. Mine is holding up well so far and it has been used a lot. It holds my 80D with the EF-S 18-135 attached and my EF-70-300 in the bag. I can also squeeze my EF-S 10-18 in as well. It also holds some small stuff, including my external flash, extra batteries, etc. It has been on many airplanes, including a United Express Embraer ERJ-145 (50 seat) a couple of weeks ago where it fit in the overhead bin just fine.

Do you think you could fit two bodies, both with lenses attached?

I doubt it. This is a fairly small bag, and the body and lenses noted barely fit. Note how they show the bag partitioned on the website. The 80D is a crop sensor body, but is only slightly smaller than a full frame (like a 5D Mk IV), so I'm sure that one FF body would fit. Also note that my telephoto is the EF 70-300 IS II USM which is fairly compact and it's about the biggest that will fit with what I have. There are other sling bags that would work, but they would be larger. I walk around a lot (often 3+ miles a day) with mine, so I wouldn't want to carry any more than the bag holds. I could see this as a "second bag" for when you need to "go minimalist." However, it has met my needs as a regular bag and is the only one I have. You also have to be aware that some airlines have a weight limit on carry-on bags.

Thanks for that. I'm needing to carry two cameras when I go to Africa later in the year and I want to take as small a bag as possible. I'll keep looking.
