I haven't used this one, but Picassa 3 is pretty good, and free!

Have not used that one, had not even heard of it.
Picasa 3 is good (FREE) and Corel currently has VERY good specials on their PaintShop Pro x4 with the Ultimate package only 39.99 direct from them.

Try Photoscape, it is free and very easy to use! Easier to learn and use than the other high priced packages that seem to dominate the market!!

Here is another free one. I haven't tried it but I am a photo instructor at a community college and the school has put it on the computer labs machines. I heard good comments about it. There are both paid and free versions and the college has downloaded the free one.

My vote goes for GimpShop, it's a hybrid Gimp program that is very close to PhotoShop.

Interesting. I've downloaded but not installed GimpShop yet. Does it process RAW files

I use FastStone (free on the net) and LOVE it. It does everything I want and you don't have to be a photoshop expert to use it. It's free. Download it, try it and if you don't like it, move on to something else. Nothing lost.

I have not used it but it appears to be an okay piece of software. Try it and see if it does what you want. It is free so you have nothing to lose but a little time. A lot of people on here use Picasa which is also free and user friendly. The Gimp is also some free software but it has a large learning curve. There are tutorials all over the internet on how to use The Gimp and all kind of plugins that make it almost on power with Photoshop.

You might try Pixelmator. Its very similar to Photo Shop but is very easy to use. They have a 30 day free trial to test it out and its only $30. I've been very happy with it. Can't beat the price. Get it online at Pixelmator.com. Well executed tutorials as well.
