I figure (through Google) that butterfly has to be the "Blue Moon" or "Great Eggfly" butterfly - very striking. This one would be a male. It occurs from Madagascar through Asia to New Zealand - I saw it in China.
If my rough ID is correct, its scientific name is Hypolimnas bolina. I'm sure you always wanted to know that

Nice varied and well illustrated collection Bob. I wasn't nearly so successful in my search and then screwed up the photography - an off-day, I must confess. Probably because in between times I 'm trying to do my taxes!
