Its the nymph of a spur-throated grasshopper, probably genus Melanoplus, but that is a huge group of species. It would be hard to identify it more specifically. Many species in Arizona look like this as nymphs.

Thank you. Do nymphs grow or is this going to be the final size of the grasshopper?

This one looks like it is a species that will grow and it should grow longer wings. I suggest this b/c it has the proportions of a juvenile. There are grasshoppers that stay wingless, and some have juvenile-like wing pads as adults. But these species are extra-large and they don't fly with their wings because they are just too big to do it practically. You can look for pictures of 'lubber grasshoppers', as an example. Big insects.

OK I know what it is now. In a short time they will coat the road to Madera Canyon making driving almost hazardous.
