What's the deal with the first 3 and the last picture? Each has either a straight line of light on the bird or a fuzzy white blob on the bird.

From the roadside. There is tight pull off and parking is really limited. We set up next to the guard rail and the ground goes downhill to a small river. I used my Nikkor 600mmF:4G VR with a Nikon D810. In post processing I crop to 4x6. The lens and camera deliver outstanding resolution and sharpness so I have no trouble cropping. Distance across the river is around 50 yards, total distance might be around 60 yards.
