Saw a note about this in the Lensbaby Forum: 2 Lil' Owls website is having a great sale on texture files:
https://2lilowls.com/whats-on-sale/Though I've been enjoying making my own, I think for $4, $6, and $7 per package, I'm gonna have to download a few

I like you enjoy making my own. This sale reminds me of preset sales for LR I get from time to time in my email.
But at those price not a real big investment, if they turn out to be less than useful. It would not be the end of the world, at least not for me.

Are you going to check 'em out? I'm having trouble with the website. After clicking on a product to read/view closer, I'm getting locked out as a web crawler - ha! (Chrome browser on Chromebook)

I actually looked at it before I responded to your thread. I haven’t made up my mind whether I would give them a try. After all it is a big investment.

In the meantime, Dixiegirl told me about a bunch of free ones. And so far, I like them better than the ones I bought from Lil' Owls.
Two huge folders full are here:

And there are more on other pages (blogs) by that same guy. It's never-ending!!
I'll take a look free is always good.
Same here. They look like cool textures. Thank you for the heads up.

After I bought a few, I was directed elsewhere, where I found some I liked better (free)

A couple of other sources for free textures. The second site also has free brushes.
I have a bunch of brusheezy "un-bird" brushes. They are really neat. Thanks for the additional links!
.
Thank you for the free download links..... I ended up purchasing some 2Lil Owl texture sets also. For $4 and $7, almost not worth making our own

LOL, guess that depends on whether you find texture-making fun. I happened to do one this morning just to try the idea, but I'm easily bored and/or distracted by the next shiny object outside my nest
Hope you find some treasures!
Yours is the treasure Linda, it's beautiful. I love your blend of colors and use of the crack texture. I get bored easily making my own. I'd rather spend the time figuring out how to use them creatively in a composition, that's where I need the time to play and practice. I also don't paint, so don't have any of my own with thick brush strokes which can be so appealing in some images. Bev

Keni and I were chatting about that. I'm sure there are lots of tutorials to create "thick paint" in PS, if one were sufficiently motivated
I did learn how to make my own brushes - the simple ones like birds. Did you see that topic last fall?
