My first AF flying assignment was the F4E. What a trip it was. It may not have been the sleekest looking machine, but it did have a lot of power to move it along.....Many fond memories.

Great shot. I feel the excitement! Makes me want to take my d500 and 200-500 to Luke and try some end of runway shots.

My old work horse. Before we started getting the F-16’s in 1978 at Hill AFB. THE F-4D
AKA Pig we claimed if you put a corn cob on the runway that’s where they would hit the runway😜. It was more of an arrival than a landing. But still loved the old bird😉

The F4 is a beautiful aircraft and did carry a big punch. A friend of mine flew the F4s in combat he flew it all over the US and Asia. God bless all who served. Mahalo for sharing. MSgt Ret. USAF

Only fault I ever heard about them was that they didn't have a gun.

Though visually striking, there is something visually confusing about this photograph.

I've flown into and out of Love Field Prescott, AZ (KPRC) more times that I can count ... this is not KPRC Prescott. There are no mountains like the ones shown in the photograph anywhere [that] close to the airport, nor are there rising grassy fields close to either departing runways. The field sits out in the middle of a tremendous flat, and there are no power lines and poles anywhere next to any of the two runways. And, yes there is something else confusing about this photograph ... any takers?
