Spring is when they are too involved in singing, they are hanging out alone, and they don't seem to notice the car driving up. The rest of the year, they graze in the grass in groups and fly off when you approach.

Taken on 3 different days in March.

They are all great photos, my favorite is the last one. That's the one I would print and frame.

Great shots Katy. The images are sharp and well composed. For those lucky enough to live in Meadowlark country, the last shot represents the essence of spring. I miss them.

Thanks a bunch, Curmudgeon. I am glad I can see them and photograph them in this narrow window of spring.

The last two are really fantastic, Katy. The cool look of the lifeless bush/plant against the showy bird, and the colors of the soft backgrounds - love 'em!!

They are all lovely. I agree with Linda, the last two are exceptional. The background sets off the bird, at least, to me.

NMGal, I also liked the last two because of the backgrounds. Thanks for commenting.
