I have not attended any Kelby courses, but, if they are anything like his books, you are in for a treat at a bargain price. He has a great sense of humor and keeps his instructions simple and straight forward. In his words, it is like you are on a "photo shoot" together and you have asked him a "how to" question. He gives you an answer without a lot of technical "mumbo jumbo". I agree that you should be prepared to take notes or otherwise record the event, because you will be getting lots of info in a short period of time!

Have not attended any of his courses, but have had some of his books. In my opinion, his babbles on way too much and doesn't get the point. I don't have that much time to waste to sift through babble.
I either sold what books I had of his on AMAZON or just trashed them.
Too many other really good photography writers out there.

I attended the Kelby day-long Lightroom class. It was well done and informative. Like someone else mentioned, take good notes as you’ll see and hear tons of great info. But the session moves quickly and it’s a lot to absorb and remember.

Kelby is bringing his The Ultimate Photography Crash Course to Minnesota in May. Cost $89. Has anyone attended this course elsewhere. What think? Price worth it? Sound off.

If it was closer I'd be going, maybe he will be putting this on further out west soon. I've bought most of his books and find them very interesting and very informative too. He has a style and a good sense of humor that may just be over some peoples head. Martin Evening puts out very good books but very detailed, more like a photographers bible, I buy his books too. One of the best books that you could buy IMO is the "The Adobe Photoshop CC Book for Digital Photographers" by Kelby. This is a condensed and to the point version of how to step by step. You should see what level of photography is being offered if for starters or more advanced. I think it would be well worth the money. Please let us all know what you think after you have attended the event.

That's a reasonable price, and it should be a fun day. Go for it!

Try the free Kelby tutorials on youtube and all of the other free courses available first. His course is legitimate and money well spent non the less...

I have been to one of his classes and it was well worth it! I am excited to go to "the ultimate photography crash course" here in Indianapolis May 7th.

Everybody learns in multiple and different ways. I've no doubt a day course with Kelby would be helpful to most folks. Seems cheap to me but I'm sure there are some who wouldn't pay a nickel for something like this, I've a buddy like that, seems quite content taking the same photos for years now. I like different inputs!

I'm going to the one in Indy too! Maybe we'll meet up! :) I attended Scott's Lightroom class last year and loved it, learned many new things and he's easy to follow and understand, very down-to-earth approach. We got a nice notebook with the outline info in it and I took notes in the margins. Can't wait to go next month!
