The Nikon people will tell you the D5600 and the Canon people will say the Canon T6.
From a rational standpoint go with the Nikon D5600

The D5600 can be obtained in two different colors (black, red), while the 1300D is only available in black.”

Welcome to the forum.
I believe Nikon glass is the industry standard. Love their glass. Now having said that I believe that you would be better off to buy say the 5600 and an 18-200 mm lens Much more versatile and will last a beginner much longer before needing or wanting something else. I also think the cannon would be a good choice.

I'd go with the Canon, however I'd look for a deal on the T6i rather than the T6.

.....
"Industry Standard"? I doubt it, most prevalent? probably.
Have you checked DP Review for each?
(I would consider the T6i over the T6, more room for growth.)
Either should do well.

You're more apt to make a regret-free selection, if you tell the Forum 'how, what (for), and why' the camera will be used.
Oh ok. Well I bought her a 1 touch to start but its slow and not like what she used from her Auntie. I went with the Nikon. She is on the HS yearbook blub. She will be following sports, random stills and then for everything else
I would start with prime lenses. Your daughter will learn more about how different focal lengths affect the image. If you get a zoom lens. she might get stuck into the routine of arriving at a location, staying right where she is, and zooming in. That's not good. She won't learn about how distance affects depth of field and perspective. Start with a 28mm, and 50mm lens. I use a Tamron 45mm SP VC f/1.8 a lot on both cropped sensor and full frame.

Either will give an experienced photographer excellent results. The results your daughter gets is up to her training.
