My Adobe Reader decided it was going to take over the computer this morning.... most of my Icons were now replaced and when I opened anything all I got were error messages lol.. What a royal pain. I finally had to remove the reader program from the comp. I tried to reinstall it. Same thing. I tried to change the program defaults but for some strange reason it didn't show up to give me that option. So for now I am without a pdf reader, bummer.
Once I finally got all that mess cleared up I checked email, nothing in my inbox, which for this site not to give me notifications was extremely odd, LOL then I noticed I had 24 junk mails, aparently the computer decided thats where they belonged, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.
Did you delete it from startup?

Are you using Vista?
If so, go to:
Control Panel
Administrative Tools
System Configuration
Startup
Uncheck both Adobe's.
I had problems with Adobe also, once I stopped them from starting at startup, my problems with them ended.
I don't know how different the two are. Have you tried, using the guidelines anyway? It may be the same.

unfortunately adobe reader doesn't show up anywhere allowing me to change the permissions ... been trying to fix this problem all day ... no luck... so for now at least I'll do without it
Yeah I did twice... but everytime it asks to allow it to make changes to the computer if I say yes it takes over ... if I say no it won't install

It sounds like you have the fake Adobe malware on your computer.
That should not happen when you download from the link I gave you.
I think you should run your antivirus program, more than one if you have them, (not at the same time) in case one program doesn't get it.
Then try the download link I gave you again.
If you can find where on your computer to uncheck software that insinuates itself into your start menu, that helps a lot, in my opinion.
One can always go directly to a website to get any updates.
Hope you get this fixed as it is frustrating to have computer problems.
You might try running this. It is called the security tango and many times will fix the problem. Go to this site,
http://securitytango.com/tango.php. I hope this will help you out. I am no expert but the guy that has this site runs a column in our Sunday paper every week on computer problems. He answers questions on problems I didn't even know a computer could have.

Cool thanks :)
I made a bobo on that URL. I ended the sentence with a period and if it is on there it will come up that it is not on the server. After php at the end delete the period. I'm sorry if I caused you another problem.
