There's been a lot of talk about the program, Portrait Professional lately.... Regular price is $89.95 they have it on sale right now for $39.99 must be a new version coming out but it sounds like a good deal if you do a lot of portrait work. Thought it was worth mentioning.

There are several versions all on sale....check it out...

I have Version 6 of this and I LOVE it. Only problem I can see is it's pretty easy to "overdo" the processing and turn skin into plastic. I usually just use it very lightly so that I can see the difference but the client just sees themself...only better.

Good information to know...... I've never used it but gonna download the trial version and see if I like it.... the Studio version ($59.95) I see can be used as a plugin with photoshop which might be a good thing for me. Anybody else use this program and have a comment about how they like or dislike it?
Looking for reviews here not arguments lol

You know, if you have adobe photo element you can create templates for almost anything including various skin tones. It is flexible as a contortionist and straight as an arrow to hit the target result...

DB in case you need proof of recommendation to get the upgrade, I answered their questioner and named you and gave this site as the reason I purchased. :-D

EnglishWolf: Yes, Photoshop will do many things, but there are many things that one act plays do so very easily, quickly, consistently, and perhaps better than hacking away with PS.

I've been using it for a year or so and just downloaded the v10 studio edition. I agree about overdoing it, it's real easy to do. I try to stick with enhancing the eyes and highlighting the hair. The one good thing about it is when you finish and save it saves as a jpg_pp file. You still have your original and can always go back to it.

If you buy edwinJ please name me as the recommender. DB is already covered by me if they need to have someone recommended. I have already purchased.

I suggest that every one subscribe to giveawayoftheday.com
about once every 10 days there is a worthwhile program for FREE that may cost 50 or so $ but for a 24 hr period subscribers get it free. Every day there is a program, but most are not of use to me.

Photo element is only a subset of photoshop so everything is there to create the dng format and apply them as a batch if wanted.

wolfie, I think ur brain is more advanced than mine :D thats a compliment lol...... my problem is trying to learn too many new things at once... a hazard from my old profession... always worked under stressful, need to know immediately conditions so normally doing 2-3 things at the same time isn't a problem.. but I had a younger brain then ..... I really appreciate everybody's helpful comments....

Bah, I have habits that start to get on my wife's nerves, like wanting to fill the dishwasher with everything around the house before launching it... Or not wanting ANYTHING soap, spong or oil touching my morning coffee cup... I rinse it every day, never wash it! grrrrr

Or telling her to only rince with hot water pans used for meat..

She is going nuts! (I can't, I already am).

Yep DB agree, but It is more like not using a hand drill when a power drill does the job quick. Likewise, Topaz, Portrait Pro, etc are tools to do a job quickly and efficiently ... and no I do not do Crossword Puzzles. Who cares!! Puzzles are agravating, unless they are design or creation puzzles, then my mind loves the process. Like it has a will of its own. Now that is a thought for conjecture.
