What may be remarkable about this image is that it was taken with an $18.00 (including postage) Quantary 400mm preset lens mounted on a 2003 6mp Pentax K100d. While it will never be a candidate for National Graphic, it does show that it is not necessary to spend big $ on the latest body or "L" glass to have fun with photography. Set up was easy: f8.0 on the lens, camera on manual, iso fixed at 400, shutter 250/sec. Image is a JPEG with nothing except slight sharpening.
It's the magician, not the wand that counts. Just take a look at Ethan Winning 's point and shoot blog. Amazing wildlife shots with bridge cameras.
way to go! definitely a "wall hanger" ;)
Nice shot. Makes me feel better about my K110D Pentax
