This guy caught me off guard... puff, he was there and gone.

Seems a little soft to me and the background is a little weird, wish I'd had the ap all the way open... oh well.
But it was still a fun outing to Bear Point with the wife.
Osprey - Bear Point, Hutchinson Island
The other day I was out looking around for something to shoot and this hawk swoop low from behind me, right over my head. I was about a thousand miles away. I have my camera on ' burst' all the time and the very best one of the series was an unrecognizable blur that I think is its tail down in the right hand corner of the photo. This is a great shot. I like the blur of the wings, gives the bird movement.
Hi tramsey... yeah sometimes we get lucky , sometimes not so lucky. Like you, I keep mine in burst mode as well and continuous AF. I got six in the burst, this one being the only keeper of the group.

Great shot he just wanted to land so he could have his meal. Good catch for you both.

They are so hard to capture in flight, I think you did a good job. I just came back from a few days at a wildlife refuge and not one of my flight photos made it past my delete button. 8-)
Wish I was as prepared as you were when those shots present themselves. Well done.
CJartist and wowbmw,
Thanks for looking and for the comment.
Got lucky and was facing the right direction.
