First attempt at HDR on car.. Need some thoughts..
Nice effect....It certainly improved the look of the Jaguar

Thank you...and yes it did
I would blur the tag number. I don't know what nefarious things you can do with that information, but you never know.
I'm a big fan of HDR and did a similar picture for my son. He has a burgundy 1997 Nissan 240SX that is his project car. The paint is faded and banged up on one side. I re-did his room while he's away in college and did a large print of the car and used HDR (and shot on the car's "good side") and the car looks better in print than in reality. I hope he's surprised when he sees it on his wall.
I like what you did here. These are great!!

The lady who owned it said it didn't matter..
Either shot is great especially because its a Jaguar. 40 years ago I owned for a few weeks an E Type Jag. It was in essence a 12 cylinder engine with seats on it. It frightened the life out of me , breath on the gas pedel and you were at 140 mph.
I dont usuall like HDRfor no reason but this shot really "Pops"
Thanks.
Love the effect. I too want to start experimenting with HDR photos. Did you use cs5 and did you use multiple exposures or did you use the cool presets that cs5 offers? I've seen an effect like this before used with the presets. Just curious.

Thank you...I use multiple exposures and loaded them in Photomatix..
Thanks everyone for your comments
Call that HDR with chromatic aberration and yes, it's ok, otherwise? No.
I'm not a big fan of HDR (especially in landscape shots because people tend to overdo it, but inanimate objects seem to look pretty good).
But this is pretty nice... and who can argue with the subject matter!? :)
I wonder if I'd like it better if the background was plain, maybe dark, too?
A photo with a lot of detail in it to begin with, can sometimes look even more "busy" to my eye, when the HDR technique is used, yanno?
You're good at this, though!

Thank you...it was a little experiment on the car ...the background just happened to be there...
