Hello everyone, Not sure how I found this site but glad I did! I enjoy reading the posts!
Anyway I wanted to post one or two of mine that I liked the way they turned out. I have a question as to what the best way to focus while taking a shot like this. I am using a D90 and when taking sequence shots the focus changes on each shot. Should I just manual focus? I would like to get both the kite and rider in focus on all the shots. Any tips critique or comments?

Very Cool! How did you do this? I'd love to do something like this with my boys' sports pictures and make posters. What program do you use?

I used Photoshop CS2. I took sequence shots, works best on a tripod. Less movement means less time trying to line things up later. Then in photoshop it has an option to photomerge. I check the box to keep as layers. then make only 2 layers visible. On the top layer turn the opacity to around 50% until you can see what you want to reveal. Now erase the parts of the top layer that reveal the bottom layer. Then merge the 2 visible layers. Move next layer to the bottom make it visible and repeat. I am still learning myself. I have found that a remote shutter release helps. Getting the action to stay in the frame is the hardest part. I am still trying to figure out the best way to focus. It is kind of fun to do when you get a good set of images to work with. With so many images it makes it easy to remove unwanted moving objects from the final image. Here is one more.

Great idea! I have a son-in-law that kiteboards I think I will give this a try. He would get a kick out of seeing it.
