An interview with TNmike
WOW!! This is really a surprise!
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
A coworker got me interested in SLR photography in the late 70's and I bought a Canon AE1. But my family expanded and didn't have the funds so I drifted away after a few years. I bought my 1st DSLR in 2009.
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
In the early 80's I took a Basic Photography class at the local community college.
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
I was off of work during the Holidays and the weather was terrible so I had find something to do inside.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
My setup was a Canon 7D with a Canon 100mm F2.8 macro on a tripod. Lighting was with a couple of cheap light stands and cheap light box.
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I don't think I've ever been 100% satisfied with any of my photo's so ya' I try it again.
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I like collecting old cast iron cookware but like photography it's kinda' an expensive hobby.
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
I don't have any internet photo site set up.
Thanks, TNmike
An interview with nanaval
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
Seriously about 5 yrs.
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
I have had no formal training in photography. I have been in a good camera club for 2 yrs, Previous to that I was in a club that was more for salons which did not interest me and there was not much on how to use your camera, I upgraded to a Nikon D300 and wanted to get the best out of my camera that I could hence the change of clubs. I like to do macro, animals and children, now trying to improve on my landscapes. I also enjoy doing creative pictures.
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
I have loads of pictures of Nuala and thought the first five years of her life were good to do with the watch set at 5 o clock set the years in time. There was a competition in the camera club for Time so I did the picture.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
There was no special set up, I used a Nikon D50 and took pictures of Nuala as she grew, I used a picture of the sea with the sun light on it for the background and took the watch picture. In Photoshop put it all together.
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
If you mean the picture, no as I am happy with it
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Not thought about it.
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
No I do not have a site for my work.
