Some time in June I'll buy the drinks at McBride's Bucket of Blood if you will meet me in Genoa and we can shoot our way up there.

DONE. You name the date, time and place. Actually, once you name the date and time, just stand in the middle of Genoa. I think I'll be able to find you. This time don't come a day early.

Sounds like a plan to me - let's see what is happening as June come closer. I think starting there and ending in JC would make a full photo day.
IMHO

very fine phots. The Serbian orthodox church did not look at all likw what I expected. The Greek and Russian Orthodox churches being more ornate!. How did you capture thee stained glass? I am terrible with stained glass

I too was surprised to not find it more ornate - although there is some very ornate stones & metal works - I'll be going back there real soon to just photo the artistic works. It is right in the middle of Jackson, CA - about 15 mi from my house but also the closest town to shop in.
The stained glass was shot about 8 or 9 yrs ago with a Vivitar P&S - I was just lucky to have them come out. I will defiantly be re shooting them on my next rip to Virginia City,NV - it is 115 miles and at least a 3 hr drive as so much of it is all mountain roads over the Sierras.

Thanks for asking
Harvey

all the shots are lovely. I like how the churches look different, kind of an interesting contrast combination church and fort. I like my churches old and filled with character. New churches look like Banks (another kind of house of worship.)
