Anyone have experience with MelloDigital.com. They have a unbelievable price on a Sony Flash unit (HVL-58AM)that I've wanted since switching to the Sony A77. Let me say I ordered my first dslr two years ago from a now out of business company in New York. That was a positive experience and I was sad to see them close.

Here's a link that may help,
http://www.scamadviser.com/I put MelloDigital.com. in and it came back. "This Site May Be Risky".
Try it yourself.
I use Google and have an ad on "Web Of Trust" that alerts one to the reputation of vendors. On the toolbar there is a green circle that turns red if there are reported problems with a vendor then you can make a call as to whether to continue.

I checked and they seem to engage in "Bait and Switch." When you order something at an unbelievably low price, they call to say it is back ordered and try to switch you to something else which they say is much better for you. Weeks later it is still back ordered. Risky

Funny, but someone asked about them last week. No good!
Csharp "Thanks" after the replies from other members I've decided to just buy from my local camera store. And deep down I knew the price was too good to be true!
As was said last week re: MelloDigital, run don't walk away from that outfit. You will order the item and will then get a call saying that it is on backorder for umpteen weeks but have this alternate at the same price. As said last week, they have the "bait and switch" deal down pat. Good luck. Go with the tried and true companies like B7H or Adorama, etc.

buy from your local camera store. They are a great resource, the sales people are usually photographers unlike the big box stores. If you have problems or questions they are willing to help their customers. In addition your local store keeps people employed as well as pays local taxes and contributes to local charities. A local store is also like a good barber shop or cigar store, a great hangout to meet other people of l similar interests. My local camera store southern photo even offers classes on photography. You may pay a little more but you are keeping an American institution alive.
if you have to order on line, keep it simple. Only order from B+Hphoto, Adorama, KEH, calumetor Abe's of Maine. All have great reputations, do not try the bait and switch or the high pressure upgrade, and all have been in business for along time.
