Gubberment at work, it cost more to produce than gas, and requires a lot of energy to produce so it is very inefficient, but the gubberment has generated a whole industry and subsidy program around it and they know that Federal Tax Dollars = loyal voters... So... Just suck it up, nobody is going to do anything about it no matter how stupid or costly the program is.... it's a federal thing, I miss the good old days when corn was something that found it's way to the dinner table in one form or another.

I wish someone in the Media would go further and inform the American people about the total cost of using Ethanol. When you use corn to produce ethanol it removes it from the food chain and increases the cost of all corn products and those meat products produces from corn. Plus growing more corn for ethanol takes up acreages normally devoted to other crops such as soybeans. This raises the price of soybeans due to less supply and then everything made from soybeans cost more.
The damage done to small gas engines and other engines is outrageous. Ethanol gas gets less mileage, thus you burn more fuel which negates some of the lower pollution attributed to using ethanol.
But common sense has died. Mandating ethanol as a fuel is just one of the many insane, asinine, tunnel vision, go green at any cost thinking by the nut jobs that control our political and government systems.
The next thing to really hit us in the pocketbook will be carbon credits and taxing those releasing carbon. Obama said he expects our electricity bills to double and they will.
I keep asking myself, where are we headed and what will it be like when we get there. All our savings will be wiped out by inflation, increasing hidden taxes, governmental mandated increase cost and we will have less freedom to live our lives as we used too, and the list goes on and on.
Nobody ever asks the right questions of our president and our glorious leaders and if by chance one reporter does, the answer is gobbledegook, evasive, blame someone else and the true is never known, and the reporter is never allowed to ask a question again.
Going green at all cost, don't cut spending, tax more, control more, borrow more, print more counterfeit money, and continuing to make more people dependent on the government, is a recipe for disaster. It's as if our leaders think that their children, friends, relatives and constituents won't have to live in the world they are creating.
Sorry to be so negative at the start of a new year. I'll try to perk up and look for the positive. Someone said you have to just take care of you and yours the best you can and let all this other stuff just happen. It just hard not to worry about our country.
Maybe if I eat something it will calm me down.

Hope everyone has a nice day and a great year. I really am going to try.

Sorry to say you are correct.
This country as we know it will never be the same.

When Romney promised to put people back to work 51% said screw that I'm voting for the guy that will give me all the free stuff.
We are flat screwed we will not recover from 4 more years of BHO at least not for several generations of paying for our socialist experiment.
