An interview with angiehunt

You're kidding! LOL

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I have dabbled for years, but got serious in March 2012, when I began to photograph shelter animals at my local SPCA.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
Not really, though since March I have watched dozens of videos and read dozens of books.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
My granddaughter, of course. She's my living laboratory.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I have a Nikon 800 and was using my handy 50mm lens. Love that one for most shots. No flash, just aperture priority and a higher ISO.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
Not really.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I am a writer by profession, though I am opening my photography business in January. I'll be writing four days a week and shooting three.

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work
http://creativephodography.com and www.angelahuntphotography.com

Thanks! There were so many good shots!

Angie

An interview with Aussiecan

Thank you all so very much.

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
My dad got me interested in photography when I was a child owning my very first camera a Brownie. My dad loved taking pictures, I believe he passed his genes on to me. Not until I bought my first digital camera several years ago did I realize how much like him I am...I wish I could bring him back for just one day to show him what photography today is all about.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
I have not had any training. I love all kinds of photography but mostly I would say Landscapes with it's endless array of beauty.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
Over lunch one day I invited my friend Summer to my house for a fun afternoon taking Christmas pictures of her little girl. This is just one of those pictures.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I took the picture with my canon 5dmk11 and 50mm f1.2 lens. No setups...just the Christmas tree and I raised my blinds and pulled back the curtains...that's it!

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
Oh yes, looking at the picture I see where it could of been much better but when photographing an active 1 year old, you have to be quick.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
If I couldn't do photography? Wow, I would throw a temper tantrum then pick myself up and head to the nearest craft store and buy as much oil paint and supplies as I could afford! Go out and try to capture those images on canvas while relocating to a beautiful island, no internet, no phone, etc......

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Not really, only what I have share on FB.

An interview with ecsegura

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I always loved taking photos but about 4 years ago when my grandchildren were born I wanted to learn more about photography to improve the quality of my photos.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
I've taken photography classes at Everyday Photo Class with Lana Kelley and she has really helped and taught me so much. I've attended different meetups which included taking photos of gators, wildlife, skateboarders, night photos and runway models. This photos was taken at our meetup at the Houston Zoo.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
The lights and the reflections in the water were just beautiful.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I own a Nikon D7000 and Tameron 24-70 lens which was on my tripod and along with my remote.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
Maybe tried different angles to get different views.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I also like to crochet and needlepoint.

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
No just want I've posted here.

An interview with smd25

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I've been into DSLR photography for about 6 months although I used to dabble with 35mm film many years ago.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No formal training, although UHH is a great source of knowledge. I like all subjects but still have to try my hand at Portraiture.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
Just seeing the twinkle of the lights.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Nikon D70 with Sigma 70-300 Macro Zoom with Starburst filter on tripod.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I think I'd like to brighten the foreground slightly without loosing the 'sparkle'.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Cooking, my other passion.

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
I have no site to view images, although, I would be happy to post my favourites if requested.
