All taken while docked in Anacortes Wa. waiting for the boat to sail to Friday Harbor Washington(one of the San Juan Islands), last Saturday.
The cormorants and gulls are very common and eagles live nearby year round but don't always make an appearance.
This day I stood on the stern facing the woods onshore to the West. Hoping to grab a few frames.....
All the sudden, a GBH and many seagulls launched from the extended beach(low tide). Just then I spotted this large eagle coming out of the evergreens like he was launched with afterburners.
Sadly, the massive pilings obscured any pictures that likely would have shown the eagle going for the gulls nest under the top of the pilings.
I did however feel fortunate to capture the action and be able to relay the story here.
Download and enjoy!!

Good morning. Your great pictures bring back memories of the 10 years I was a live aboard in the Blaine Marina. The San Juan Islands are truly a boaters paradise. Have you had a chance to cruise the inside passage up to the Bella Bella area in BC? If the weather cooperates, it can be a spectacular journey.
