Most subscriptions are rip-offs (not just in the photography world). Get a download license for what you really need (like the current version of Elements) and save yourself some money and aggravation.

I've really been put off by the subscription thing. And by all the problems that seem to come about with every "update."

I only pay $10.00 a month. I would recheck that, because that is what I am currently paying.

Well, that's what I thought it was supposed to be.

$9.95 a month for LR&PS with 20GB of cloud storage which means nothing. The $19.95 a month includes 1TB cloud storage.

Thanks for the link. That looks like the screen I saw, but it didn't include the "photography" option.

I just signed up for the $9.95 a month plan. Tried to pay the whole year & they did the monthly in case it didn't work on my older computer. (Adobe only gives 14 days to make the yah or nah choice) You want or get the 20 gb cloud storage plan for that price. 1TB cloud storage is $19.95. To be honest, my 10% keeper rate & me in general keeping way to many photos, I could do 20gb in one or two days active days of shooting wildlife if traveling about for a week or two. I would prefer to just backup to 2 external drives. One would have to always keep one with them & one in the hotel/ vehicle, etc. to be safe & maybe just upload them 1-2% of special photos to the cloud if they didn't want to pay the extra $10 a month. Are your backups worth $120 a year? Only you can decide. Ahh, computers, storage, all electronic/digital gear falling out of support & possiblyeventually needing replacement = the hidden cost of photography if one does not realize when diving in. Anywho, hope this helps, Tom

Thanks, Tom. I've never trusted the cloud for storage. I know lots of people do. I have lots of externals and backups of them. And one set is always in the safe.

That cloud storage via the Adobe subscription options is not for long-term storage. Rather, if you're a 21st century mobile shooter, 1TB would (could?) be useful for you to upload a day's (week's) work to the cloud, in the field and with mobile-edits, so that when home that data and edit work is seamlessly merged from the cloud storage into your main (home) LR Classic catalog. Along with that merging into the main (local) storage at home, that 1TB (or 20GB) 'work area' should be cleaned out for re-use during the next session.

As for long-term storage, the Adobe cloud storage is grossly over-priced. If you want cloud-based, long-term, secure, back-ups, you should be purchasing from a dedicated vendor with a specialized product for that specific purpose at a lower price. The Adobe subscription and storage is not that storage for that long-term back-up purpose.

Thanks. That use of cloud storage makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with my old programs. But I continue to be derided by purists because I don't have the latest and greatest software. That wears on the psyche.

No, there are MULTIPLE Adobe Photography Plans. The least costly is $9.99/month. That $19.95 plan includes a lot more Adobe Cloud storage. If you store all or most of your files locally, you save ten bucks a month. Read closely, and explore all the options.

To use the latest software, you will need to read these three links and be sure your computer has AT LEAST the minimum resources:

Your mouse problem may be related to outdated drivers. I would go to the website of your mouse, look for your mouse model number, and download and install new driver(s) as needed. If nothing improves, as a friend to bring their mouse and try and use it and see if anything improves.

That's what a friend told me. But when I checked, it said they were up to date. Another friend said it was because my memory was too full. So I took a bunch of stuff off the computer. Didn't work. Another friend (an IT guy) suggested I remove the drivers and download them again, as they might be sitting in a bad sector. But I didn't write down his instructions, and I was afraid I'd screw it up totally. So I never tried that. It is MOST annoying and makes me not want to use the machine!

Today's my birthday. As I get older I ask myself what my remaining life experiences are worth. Some simply refuse the subscription concept on principle which is illogical. Some think it's more sensible to pay $9.00 for a single Starbucks coffee. If you use a valuable tool which costs $9.99 a month then your pleasure is well worth the cost. I use it and it brings me joy to have such a new powerful tool at my disposal. What this updated software can do is utterly mind blowing. (pig's ear into silk purse stuff). I'm fine letting my heirs cancel the subscription after I'm gone.

I actually am starting to compare the cost of the last purchased program and the subscription cost for my remaining years. Of course, no one actually know that.

See if this link helps. Google "windows 10 updating drivers" for other links. The advice you got to delete drivers and download them fresh was good advice. I have had to do this a few times.

What exactly are the symptoms of your mouse issue? If it’s erratic or too sensitive, you might just need to adjust the speed/sensitivity settings. To do so, in the lower right corner of the screen (start button), right click, choose run and type “control panel” (unless it’s listed in the pull down menu). When control panel opens, choose mouse/pointing devices and try adjusting the speed/sensitivity.
