Sometimes the perfect shot is waiting for you.

You have a bot at home? LOL.

So I ask, why do you degrade your camera by referring to it as "crappy".

A musical artist can play Tchaikovsky on a beat up old violin. It will sound better than an amateur using a Stradivarius. Are we to believe that you are such a proficient photographer as to be able to generate excellent images on a crappy camera?

Or are you trying to imply the image would be so much better if you had a different camera?

Or maybe it's satire? Cell phones are really not crappy (of course they are not).

Or are you concerned people here will critique you for the camera you used? There are narrow minded people here as well as anywhere else. But they are not in the majority.

When you eat a meal at a restaurant, do you run into the kitchen and look at the stove before you decide if the food tastes good?

What part of subject, lighting, framing and composition, and emotional impact does the type of camera contribute to?

When enjoying others work, I look at the photos not the camera. In that vein, I think your images are great. They are well composed and have emotional impact. No small feat. You don't have to make excuses, or bother telling people what camera you used.

My cell phone camera is not my first choice when I want to take a photo but as anyone who has tried to take photos of pets, they don't always stay where you want them while you go off to get your camera. I've taken several photos with my cell phone camera that would have been missed other wise. They are not the best lit and I would have preferred a different "lens" but better to capture the moment than lose it forever. It's better than nothing.

When purchasing my phone, the camera was not a consideration. If it had been the main reason for the purchase I would have purchased the newest edition and the top of the line model. Will I purchase the latest and greatest the next time I need a new phone with the focus on getting the best camera available? Doubt it.

Very sharp and focused! I'm confused, why do you call your cellphone crappy?

Doubt a big DSLR would have improved these much, they are fine photos. You don't mention the name or year of the cell phone, but I have a 5 year old, lower-end Motorola which takes wonderful photos; some of them favorites and wall-hangers, just because it was there when I needed it.

The one of your father is a keeper. It could profit by a closer crop. Thanks for sharing.
