Lightroom or Gimp

Does anyone use these, and if so, which is the easier one or the best to have. I am just looking for touching up photo's, not doing web pages and stuff like that. Thanks!

I think you would get much more from Lightroom. Better tools, better software and I have been getting emails showing its on sale now.

You would be well served by Lightroom. It has become the "Gold Standard" for photographers. If you shoot in Raw, Lightroom includes Camera Raw which allows editing of Raw, jpeg, and TIFF files.

I agree I would start with Lightroom 3. That is what I do to enhance about 95% of my photos.
I also used PhotoShop CS4 and many different plug-ins for LR3 and PS CS4 to enhance some my photos.

I use and love Ligthroom for speeding up workflow.
You can correct one shot and apply setting to an entire shoot (assuming exposures are similar). Plus, it's non-destructive so you never really change the photo until you export it to another format.
If you shoot RAW, this is the program to use.
