Given all settings equal, is the quality of jpegs produced by both similar in quality.

While I don’t have either Q3 or X100V, I have compared the Q2 (47 mp) with the Fuji X-T2 and X-T5 (24 and 40 mp). Cannot discern any notable difference until you pixel peep to 200%. The greater megapixels will however afford greater opportunity for cropping while maintaining good resolution. The Leica (and I am a Leicaphile since 1950 Leica iiif which I still have) at fixed 28mm is a bit too wide for my taste (built in crop loses resolution). FYI, there are numerous YouTube comparisons of the Q2 and 100V. I resisted temptation of the Q2 (and Q3) in favor of the Fuji X-T5. The 100V is a marvelous, compact camera; hard to beat in its class including Leica. Just my two cents.

I have not checked, but I’m assuming the Leica is much more expensive. Why spend the extra money if you’re not seeing a big difference in image quality?

I can’t find 100v in stock anywhere. I wanted one for street photography and Fuji underestimated the demand. People seem to be quite happy with them.

I am an X100V owner and I’m delighted that it is being positioned with the venerable Leica Q 3 as to Jpeg capture.

Amazon has 6 of the Fuji X100V for $2399. About a $1000 over original price!

Even though the Fuji and the Leica are very similar, the Leica Lenses and the Leica sensor which has its priority color space always seem to come up with a more pleasing and better detailed photograph. If you can afford the Leica then go for it. Also remember that in 10 years the value of the Leica will probably be similar to what you pay for it, where the Fuji will be left in the closet or off to Good Will.

Very few people have the Q3 in hand yet so hard to compare but it will most probably be much better than the X100V JPEGS thanks to the 61MP resolution, larger sensor and a great lens. X100V is no slouch but a not a match to Q3 either.

Here is a comparison in case you want to see all the differences:
