I've had pizza on my mind for a few days, with a great pizza place just a mile away.

The bar has been here since 1933 and the restaurant opened in 1947. I was there in 47'.
That is called a "Special"- green pepper and sausage. There are many, many other options.

Mark pizza to me is the perfect food item. You can put all the food groups on one. This one looks SO GOOD! I will have to get pizza today because of you. I personally could eat pizza EVERYDAY!!. Thanks BE SAFE!!

Wish we had one of those in our town. 100,000 people and still not a good pizza. And Covid even eliminated the mediocre ones.

Do you have to drive 55 miles back before you can eat it?

Looks good!

If you ever get to Anderson, Indiana, try an Art's pizza.

Mark if you don’t want to drive as far Esposito in Mataram has a basil pesto pizza on a sesame seed crust and Nancy’s townhouse in Rahway has the best thin crust pizza

I drive 150+ for a Malt The Crown Candy Kitchen been in business and owned by the same family since 1905, my first visit 1944 I was five years old and Grandma lived around the corner.
The only place I know that makes their own Ice Cream, hand dips it and uses powdered malt plus you get the whole mixing can full and a glass to drink it from.

When you say " Uses powdered malt plus you get the whole mixing can full and a glass to drink it from" reminds me of a place outside Des Plaines, Il. in the late 40s and early 50s. Couldn't get a better tasting malt, anywhere!
Good memories, thanks.

That pie looks spectacular Mark.
And let me guess what your listening to during the 55 mile trip, XM Classic Jazz?
Its not only the great pizza that makes the trip worthwhile but the memories it invokes.
One of our family traditions was to buy butter cookies from "Joe's Sicilian" bakery in Queens. Now that I live in CT I often still make the 50+ mile trip for those cookies. I love the looks on peoples faces when I "unveil" the box at a Sunday family dinner
