Yes! That's great. I would like to see programmable buttons for places I go regularly but not frequently.

My Tom-Tom has them, They are stored in two places: Recent Destinations and Favorites.
I have a bunch in both. I use Favorites for frequently used destinations.
They can be removed from the list if desired.

I read on another site that it would be best not to have a destination in your gps called home. If someone steals your gps then they know where you live.

On my GPS, the speed I'm going turns red if I exceed the posted speed for that section of road.
Pretty accurate with the changes in speed limits on a road, within less than 100 feet.

Mine too

Amazing how that works, eh?
Sometimes I'm 10 over and still get passed like I'm sitting still.

Yup, quite often

While on subject, I wonder if somebody knows the answer to this question. When GPS in my car shows the time of arrival at the destination, what speed is used for this calculation - the posted speed limit on the road or the actual speed I am driving at?

Not sure about the time but, the miles when you input your destination seem to be AIR miles, always shorter than the actual trip.

Yes...
I have my "Home" set to a block or two away.
I just want to get back to my neighborhood.

When hurricane ike hit the Houston area I was sent there to restore telephone service and I had no gps.i got one on sale at a radio shack.i had no earthly idea where I was at the end of the day but I would hit home( my motel)and the unit would take me there.sometime I was 50 miles away.one time I was going over a hump on the road and the red warning light came on so I slowed down and in front of me was a pile of cars that were stopped at a red light ahead.after going through that road a few times I realized that the speed limit sign was posted from 65 to 40.that GPS saved me from an accident.

Mine is accurate time wise to within a minute, maybe two.
It changes when I get stuck in traffic also.
I've not paid attention to the update frequency.

I have come to believe that those signs are suggested speeds only to most people.

My Garmin has that, too. What I would like is something like the Fn buttons on cameras. There would D1, D2, and D3 where I could store locations. That would save me the trouble of scrolling through all my "Recents." I'd tap D1 and get the route to Hawaii (as soon as they finish that bridge.) Actually, I kept a lot of routes from Hawaii just for the memories.

I recall reading that the accuracy issue (which could be controlled by the data reported by the satellite) was actually overcome by an engineer who just used the data provided by more satellites to calculate a more accurate position in commercial GPS units.

Should be the same for cruise control, not available over posted speed limits

My GPS was made by an "Indigenous Tribal Company," the Fugawee. And, it constantly reminds me of that fact, by repeating the phrase: "We're the Fugawee!"
