Can anybody suggest a fix or lens repair shop please.
It is very hard to rotate the aperture ring on the lens, when I turn it, the aperture blades move somewhat but then they change the opening by themselves. However when I use the aperture settings on the camera the blades adjust just fine according to the camera setting. There is however a sound coming from the lens when the camera changes the blade opening.
This lens was dropped on a tile floor from about 2 ft (not by me), no visible damage, a dent or a scratch, it still looks brand new.

If you are in the USA, give a call to Sony's main USA authorized repair shop, Precision Camera in Enfield , Connecticut, and talk with them.

Unfortunately it does sound like it sustained some internal damage from the drop . I have the same lens in my kit and love it. Fortunately your electronic lens aperture actuation is still working, just not the manual/mechanical aperture movement.
1) Here Jade in the Nevada desert at sunset. Sony A7RIV, Sony 24mm f1.4 GM lens, 24mm, ISO 400, f1.6, 1/160 sec. handheld, light only from the headlights of two cars, with non-flammable color smoke added.
2) Early morning fisherman on Grapevine Lake, Grapevine, Texas, just before sunrise. Sony A7RIII, Sony 24mm f1.4 GM lens, 24mm, ISO 125, f1.4, 1/ 500 sec. handheld, all natural pre-sunrise light glow. This was my first ever shot with that 24mm f1.4 GM when I got it new back in fall 2018, and I was testing it to see how sharp it was at f1.4 at my point of focus. The lens has never disappointed me. Shot in color, converted to B&W in LR. I like this shot better in B&W.
Cheers and best to you. Keep us informed Ok.
