Bottom Line? A superb location workhorse (Swiss Army Knife) small & agile (but not light, has Pro metal build)
Note: The AF 70-210mm f/4-5.6D Nikkor has a focusing distance scale with two indicators for working in the infrared spectrum for 70 and 105mm focal lengths.
Important Note: The AF 70-210mm f/4-5.6D Nikkor has an aperture control ring. In order for the lens to work normally on digital cameras, you need to set it at f/32 using the aperture control ring on the lens itself, then the aperture control ring can be locked by a special lock button. This orange "Lock" button is easy to find on the lens next the aperture control ring. After locking it at f/32 then controlling the diaphragm is accomplished from the camera, (like with newer digital lenses).
Important Note: This this lens will not Auto-focus on the follow Nikon Digital Cameras
D3000, D3100, D3200, D3300, D3400, D3500
D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300, D5500, D5600
Z5, Z6, Z6 II, Z7, Z7 II, Z8, Z9, Z50 with or without a FTZ or FTZ II Adapter
Important Caveat: AF-Fine-Tune can be an important consideration for all F-Mount Auto-focus Nikkors

I have the earlier one , f4 , the first auto focus lens made by nik , works very nicely , sharp .I also use it with a 20mm spacer [ mike ]for close up . That lens there should be a winner . My lens is not a push pull zoom , but rotates . Good luck .
