I'm wondering if anyone in the Hampton Roads area has a Tamron tap in console I could borrow to do a firmware update for one lens?
KEH has a used one for $37.
Thanks. I may end up going that route, but since I only have one Tamron lens and it needs a firmware update to work properly with my Z body, I'm going to see if there is anyone local willing to let me use his/hers.
I have a tamron/Nikon tap in I no longer need.
Send it Tamron, I sent my 150-600G2 and Canon 77D camera they fine tuned it free. 2 years old, 6 year warranty. One week turn around
Thanks, Jerry. After doing a little more research, I decided to keep the Tamron with my D850 body and go Z native with the 70-200 2.8S
That's pretty impressive that they would do that!
I wonder if Tamerkn would also do that for a lens I bought used? I have a 100-400. Other than the weight, it is a great lens.
Jerry, I wonder if Tamron won't fine tune my Nikon D500 with my Tamron 100-400 lens if I could pay for shipping and then return it to you?
Be advised the Tamron TAP-in console for Nikon is usable only with certain specific Tamron lenses, so check their website for compatabilty. Also note that model console requires specific non-current operating systems. With Apple computers the Nikon model uses only OS 10.10 and 10.11. That's on the box end panel and per my contact with Tamron support. I was told "the parent company is working on an upgrade for Mac, but it's more complicated than you would think". There is no expected available date. And the Tamron website for the TAP-in console has not been updated since 2019. Bp
