I live in the beautiful state of West Virginia. There are lots of photo opportunities here. I take what I call "photo shooting trips". I absolutely love capturing God's beauty.
Welcome to the Hog! I too love WV and find it a wonderful place for photography. Babcock State Park and the surrounding area is where I usually head but I would like to spend more time in other areas of the state.
Welcome Martha... West Virginia is a cornucopia of photo opportunities... I've kayaked many of it's absolutely gorgeous and exciting white water rivers...
btw, for a time I lived in Greenbank WVA where the Division of Astronomical Sciences (AST) of the National Science Foundation (NSF) constructed the world's largest fully steerable radio telescope which is being used to scan ʻOumuamua and other heavenly bodies passing close to our solar system for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence.
Truly a page out of Stanley Kubrick 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR_e9y-bka0 which I saw just before moving to Greenbank to work as a exploratory geologist on the Bath County Pump Storage Project (to be built to work in tandem with the North Anna Nuclear Reactors)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Anna_Nuclear_Generating_StationIt also houses the US Navy's radio telescopes used to communicate with their nuclear submarines through the world. Greenbank WVA is totally unique in as it's in a virtual radio blackout area shielded on all sides from radio interference... It's in interesting site to visit...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bank_TelescopeHard to believe it was just over 50 years that I lived and worked there...
My how time flies when you're having fun...
Thank you for sharing Martha... Cheers and enjoy UHH!
