A few of the games from our Kids Basketball Basketball ending Season.

Our Kids had a good season, sadly lost the District Game by a couple of points.
We have a young Team with kids like this one returning next Season.

Used a Nikon D850, Nikon 85mm, f1.8, shutter 1/1000 sec., f2.4, ISO 4,000

Tom my boy these are very nice pictures. Great white balance you stopped the action. The 85mm did the trick.
Going to shoot varsity baseball in a while.
Be well

Tom,

Some great action here to end you basketball season! My Canon ef85mm f1.2 is slow, its a hit or miss for me with basketball! great for portraits.

Thanks for sharing,
Rick

Hi Tom & Rick:
I have tried on a few occasions to use my 85mm 1.4 also for basketball to no avail. I think I am still better off with the 70-200 2,8 up to half court and use the 24-70 2.8 for around and under the basket. It's a good lens though, but as Rick said it's a bit slow to focus for the action. My two cents anyway.

Totally agree Jules with your 2 cents! I use my 70-200mm f2.8 and my 300mm f2.8 for basketball and even volleyball. I think I'm going to invest into a 24-70mm or 28-70mm (Canon has both RF lens, one of lens is f2.0).

I am not familiar with Canon lens and what they can do. But I do like the 24-70 2.8 or even the 50mm for under the basket. I will use the D500 with the 300 2.8 for downrange on the floor defensive plays or coming up the floor.
