Hockey season winding down. Realistically, probably only one more home playoff game. A few from the last game (my 21st!!) for your enjoyment. A feel good note - my team picture was used as a promo for the first 1,500 fans. A first for me and I will confess to enjoying seeing it in the hands of so many! LOL!

Shot with a Z9 and 70-200 f2.8. 1/1000 wide open. ISO 2500.

Nice set! Did you use a different workflow on these? They seem to have an extra pop for me! Hope you make it to Thursday's game am anxious to see more photos!

Thank you. I am planning on going to the Thursday game, so if things go as they normally do, I'll have some more photos. My approach to this game was a little bit different. I'm trying to learn how to do custom light balance up front so I don't have to tinker so much post. What I did was find some images with which I was happy and note the color temperature. I then set the in camera WB to the appropriate kelvin value. This locale came out at 4760k. I like the way it came out. Now to learn how to do it on the fly! I appreciate you noticing it.

I just had a chance to look at your work here. I must admit Rick wonderful once again. You just can't beat the close up shots, crisp, clear and yes the white balance hit the mark. I must have told you in the past I have never shot hockey. I admire the work.

Thank you for the kind words. Like a lot of things, it takes a lot of "throw aways" before getting comfortable with it. The season ended Sunday, so I am done until next year. Mixed feelings. On the one hand I will miss shooting the games on the other, I will not miss the long, late night drive returning home. Just not as young as I used to be! :o(

Nice work all season..Take a rest now. I get that feeling when my state finals are over for baseball bitter sweet. Not much to do all summer until Aug. 18th when the first football game in on schedule.

I will feel that with softball, too. I am enjoying a bit of a break before summer. Then subjects change a bit. I have an air show I will shoot the first weekend in June, then a model rocket club has monthly launches and there are twice a month rodeos. Oh yeah - a vintage motorcycle motocross just for fun! Still shooting, but not as frequently and as you can see, some different subjects. What's the old saying, "Variety is the spice of life?"
