Time for some changes at the softball game. I changed shooting locations to primarily use behind home plate and behind the centerfield fence. Behind home I shot through the protective netting, something I had not done in a long time. Centerfield I was on a bench looking over the fence. I wasn't sure I was going to be allowed in that location, but happily was given permission! All images but for the pitcher were shot from the 200' range and cropped appropriately.

Shot with a Z9 mounted with the 100-400 S lens in shutter priority. Some light adjustment due to shooting in a mixture of bright light and shadows. Then a bit of sharpening just to make ME feel better!

I like the centerfield perspective, especially for the batters.

Good action shots Rick. Centerfield shots worked good. What shutter speed were you using?

I really like the picture of the base runner trying to steal 3rd base. It leaves the viewer with one question safe or out?
Photographically all of the photos are great and truly capture the decisive moment.

Thank you for the kind words. BTW - she was safe! ;o)

Are you actually in Rochester? I grew up about 90 miles south of you in Bath (near Corning) and now spend my summers in the area on a small lake between Seneca and Keuka lakes. I make several trips to the National Warplane Museum to photograph the airshow and a model rocketry club shoots which puts me in your general area!
