As the comment above suggests, if I needed a few images with dates, I would take a free editor and add the info. Irfanview is one that allows you to add text to images and is free. It doesn't have to be fake data, the correct info can be gotten from the exif data attached to the image.

p. 86 of the manual discusses Date stamping in the menu. It appears that you must have the camera in jpeg mode.

I have cameras that I occasionally set the date and time on. I am pretty sure that I could set any date I chose and the camera would put that date on the image. Fetzler, above, suggests makine an image of a newspaper with the date showing. That would seem more iron clad accurate to me. I suppose that you could take relevant papers to a notary public to be signed and dated.

I have a Nikon D5500 that I set date stamp up on. KEH has one for $433.46, it includes a battery and charger, 180 day warranty, add a 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 lens $11.75 you would be all set.

I have had mine for about 8 years and use it for teaching my son and grandson how to take pictures it’s very good.

It replaced the D 5300 and it was replaced by the D 5600

I’m sure there are a few cameras that do this. I had heard the Canon EOS Rebel 2000 DATE was a great film camera. It was light as a feather even with a good size piece of glass for a lens. Granted it was a nice 35mm film camera. And it was reasonably priced. I believe the last date you can add is
12-31-2025. Most digital cameras have the date in the EXIF file.

I’m sure you can pick up one for under $200. Film is still available and can be developed for us from several processing companies. Those of us that are Hipster Dinosaurs from Brooklyn can still appreciate it.

If you have an iphone, there are free apps in the app store that will imprint the date/time automatically on the image. If you have an android, there are probably very similar apps.

Besides being free, the clocks in the phones are, routinely, set by the cell towers. From a forensics perspective, the cell tower logs can provide 'proof' of date/time. [If you manually change the date/time in your phone, the cell towers still record the true time.].

I have a newspaper from 9-11-01. Is that old enough? That would prove a relationship that is over 22 years old. Doesn’t exactly sound dispositive of the date the photo was taken for these purposes. My question is how is a time stamped photo with the date the camera was used (presumably in the near future) to prove a long term relationship.

Yes and your newspaper will yellow with age. A clean white paper will be a clue. Otherwise a one would need a notarized statement.

Referring to the reply from Fetzler above: I haven’t looked at it for years, I don’t know. It is stored in a lightproof box in a cool dry basement. Now I have to pull it out and see. Also will have to see what effect adjusting white balance in the camera or see what the color sliders in Lightroom do. I posted to suggest using a newspaper may not be satisfactory because it is too easy to deceive someone. You know that INS has seen it all. The date stamp on a photo is set by the user if I understand it correctly and a simple photo will not have any original data, it’s just a photo. “Interesting, verrry interesting” he says in his Arte Johnson voice, the gestapo Sargent on laugh in.
