Red or green flashlight for night photography

My take is get a headlamp that has a sliding red cover. Then you’re hands free. I use a Black Diamond but doubt brands matter. There’s lots of options on the market. Good luck.

When I was in the navy, all night lighting on board ships at night was red

I always used red, and really never tried green. My boat also has red helm lights...

I used to fly small prop planes as a hobby. I've never seen anything but red for the instrument panel lights. The military also used red lighting when I went to WPAFB for a high altitude physiology seminar, so IMO, red is the way to go.
