Can't help much, I think it's excellent as is.
I might like the branch he's sitting on extended all the way to the right, and perhaps cropping a bit more to center, but my opinion is not worth much. I love the pose and the color and the background. All good.

The bird is very cute and well posed. Kudos for getting him to follow directions! My personal taste is to have a more natural-looking background than flat black. When it's flat-black, my mental jump is to assume it's a fake photo.
