Clamp for a tire tube hot patch. Rough up the tube put on a little sticky then the hot patch is clamped on and ignited, the best patch available at the time.

Lol I had some patches for them until I moved I tested one of the and it didn't ignite!!
No sticky needed , it melted the patch and tube together.

Yep...clamps for applying hot patch to rubber inner tubes. I remember helping my Dad when I was a kid work on old tires.

I think it was called vulcanizing...
Here's a video for those who can't remember and those who are too young to know.
I don't know what he's done here but when my Dad did it the surface of the patch was left smooth and shiny..I remember the patches he used were also oval shaped.

You are right...it was called vulcanizing & completed patch was smooth and shiny.
