I was in the Army's artic survival school in 75. We were north of the Artic circle, in Feb, really cold. If you haven't spent a day running around in snow shoes, you are missing out. Dead tired, 10 pm, and you know 4 am is coming, but we are all standing out watching the best light show in the world. Johhny Hortens song about the Northern lights running wild is a minor description. It was like God was waving a large bull whip. Been all over the world being there is one of my best memories.
Wow...that would be amazing...I have yet to catch them really good here...seems when they are really good and lighting up the sky...we are clouded in! I have actually spent a day running around in snow shoes...it's a heck of a workout!
