UHH should have more of these long threads that continually beat the dead horse.

It is so much better than having a dozen threads a week spewing the same arguments. ---
it’s a topic for which dogmatic strong opinions dominate the conversation. Those with moderate views will be quickly shouted down.

Agree: "Ansel Adams taught me you do your very best capturing you image with you camera settings. Then you are half way there."

jpeg if you miss polaroid, raw if you want to produce a better image. Jpeg if you shoot on program, Raw if you like to process your work. I started years ago processing my photography with black and white film. Lots of hours in the darkroom making my pictures better. Ansel Adams taught me you do your very best capturing you image with you camera settings. Then you are half way there now you go to darkroom and apply techniques to make it better. With digital photography you have a choice of raw or jpeg. Jpeg will process it for you. In the film days just send it out to be developed and be content with the results. With raw you are now going to have to process it, you can do this with jpeg but you have less information in you file. Raw gives you more information and an improved image compared to jpeg results. Processing Raw files is simple with most programs. Which is truly better depends on what you want to achieve with you photography
jpeg if you miss polaroid, raw if you want to prod... (show quote)

This is a silent form of communication, there is no shouting down. People express their opinions and get on with it. If someone doesn't like another's opinion, tough. If you shoot RAW, that's ok, it's your camera. If you shoot JPG, that too is ok. Again, your camera.
For those who disagree with others about shooting RAW or JPG, mind your own, it's their camera to do as they will and yours to do as you will. Get a life!

Methinks he protest a bit too much.

If I somehow offended you by stating my observations, then I do apologize. But your response is exactly what I was referring to.

The entertainment value of UHH is what keeps the lights on. If this sites $$ value depended on useful accurate content, it would barely have its head above water. Thats just life in the media marketplace.

To User ID. (For some reason “reply does not work here)

Yep correct! As is true of social media sites. Thank you for the reminder!

Also on UHH you get
(1) expert advice
(2) strong conflicting opinions
(3) completely wrong answers

And it’s up to the reader to sort them out.
