Thanks for your feedback Ava'sPapa. I must remember to number the photos next time but for now I can tell you that cars numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 are all General Motors Holdens made in Australia. Since Holden was a General Motors sibling it is not surprising there were some styling similarities with American GM cars, particularly in the early days.
Brief History:
James Holden opened a saddlery in Adelaide South Australia in 1856. In 1917 Jame's son Henry began manufacturing car bodies and merged with General Motors Australia in 1931 to become General Motors-Holden Ltd (GMH). The first complete Holden car manufactured by GMH Australia hit the streets in 1948. GMH continued manufacturing cars in Australia until its Adelaide production line closed in 2017. A short production run of Holdens were manufactured in other plants until Holden finally ceased operations in Australia and New Zealand in 2021.
Thanks for your feedback Ava'sPapa. I must remembe... (

Thanks for that info Thorny. Very interesting. The cars in photos 1 & 3 look to have front ends resembling Chevelles and the rear ends of both of those remind me of a Pontiac LeMans...all from the late 60's-early 70's. Close?
