This guy is a bit disappointed with his bride, because she and other family members have not done a good job lately of putting food on the table. But as you can see, he is smart enough to give her some needed encouragement regarding her hunting slump of late (it is her job to bring home the groceries).
Looking at the photo of the two females (probably sisters) scanning for game, their weight is way below what it should be, and you can almost count their ribs. They appear to be young, and maybe without enough experience with the hunt, but I'm pretty sure we witnessed firsthand what the real issue was.
But they spotted a few Impala a good distance away, and the kids were instructed to "stay put and stay low". And they did for a while. But younguns aren't really known for their patience, and so after the ladies had worked really hard for a good while at getting closer to the antelope without being spotted, the kids couldn't stand it anymore and came running and jumping through the high grass to see what was going on.
Game over (and game gone).
So the real problem, at least for that day, was not a lack of hunting expertise, but rather a lack of reliable child care! Dad could have helped out in that regard, but at the time he was napping and couldn't be bothered with such domestic issues. But soon enough, he will wake up, give a big yawn, and ask "What's for dinner?"
Wouldn't want to be him when he gets his response to such an innocent question...
