Tamron 150-500 for Fuji x vs Fuji 150-600

I'm considering these two lenses. The Tamron is goes to 500mm but is F5 - F6.7 at 500. The Fuji goes to 600 but is F 5.6 to F 8 at 600. Does the extra 100 mm offset the higher F stop or is the lower F stop more important? The F 8 really concerns me. I will be shooting wild life and grandkids sporting events, outside. Does anyone have experience with either of these lenses? If so which did you get and did you consider the other one? The Tamron is currently $700 less than the Fuji. Thanks in advance for your information.

I do not own any of those lenses. Both are slow lenses, part of the compromise to make them zooms and long to reach 500-600 mm.
Many people here use the Tamron for bird's photography. Perhaps if you do a search you will find many of those images besides useful information.

Although both lenses are pretty slow the chances are excellent you will have to use a high ISO setting for action photography. It is not ideal to be shooting at the maximum lens opening at all times but consider that today's optics are superior to what they were just 20 years ago. They have better corrections and coatings among other things.

My advise is to rent the lens you have in mind. Only testing the lens yourself will give you the information you need to make the final decision.

I'm considering these two lenses. The Tamron is ... (show quote)

Fuji is sharper, Fuji is better built, made for your Fuji camera (Tamron is built for many camera's), Fuji will last longer, Fuji has better built tolerances, in five years the Fuji will be worth about 40% more than the Tamron, Fuji has a long history of great glass, in a few words, Fuji is just a better buy in the short and long term, hands down, end of story, book um Dano.

Don't know about Fuji, but I would go that direction. I've had two long Tamron zooms and returned both of them. Will never buy another. I don't mean to give Tamron lenses a bad name altogether, I have a couple short ones that I like, but both Tamron long zooms were very soft beyond 400mm and therefor useless for me. Some people like them, but I don't see it!

The savior of long lenses with larger F-stops is the current crop of noise reduction software. It allows us to shoot at ISOs that were intolerable only a short time ago. The Fuji F-stops won't be a problem.

My rule of thumb when buying camera lenses:
Look at the front of your camera
Then go out & buy a lens with the same name

Possible exceptions: Leica / Zeiss Lenses

I'm of the belief that The best camera will always be reduced to the quality of the lens attached to it. The only thing that the digital sensor senses are the waves of light reflected off the subjects back to the camera. When that subject is 100 yards away...well, the optical quality of the lens is kind of important.

I have Tamron 150-600 G2. I just had it fined tuned by them for free to MY camera. Tamron told me if it was possible back off the 600 if you can a little.
Depending on your camera the auto focus may not work great on slow lenses. If I add the 1.4 teleconverter auto is spotty.
Today's cameras can tolerate a lot of cropping.
Here us an eagle photo I took with Tamron, I'm happy with it.check out next post, as I was unable to add photo here

Thank you.
Taken with Canon rebel 77D and Tamron 150-600 G2. Protective filter due to me using it near Salt Air and water
