White Light Solar - Different Approach

Loaded the Sony A7R V with a David Levy 152 Mak-Newt scope, 2x PowerMate and Baader Solar Film filter on the Evolution mount this afternoon.

Shot 2210 frames of 8K video and processed it to the attached result. The base image is 50% of full size and the inserts are full size (100%) crops from the original image.

A couple of items:
1) I actually shot a session with a 2.5x PowerMate but the focus was better on the 2x session.
2) I shot 100 images with both a 2x and 2.5x PowerMate but the 8K video gave me better quality.
3) I thought I could get 5x by using a 2.5x stacked with a 2x PowerMate; however, I still got only about 2x magnification, not sure why?

Enjoy!

How's that David Levy scope on Jupiter?
I have a 102 triplet explorer scientific that I'm dying to get out. Rotator cuff issues prevent me from moving it around.

By itself at 750mm focal length, i.e.: w/o a PowerMate/Barlow, not all that great, per:

However, I have a 5x PowerMate on order which I'll be using with the DL152 on planets at some time in the future BUT the biggest problem I'll encounter is the unstable atmosphere on the eastern slope of the Rockies. I seem to get one great night for planetary imaging about every couple of years. I have much the same problem with galaxies but at least with planets I have the option of shooting several thousand video frames and selecting the best few for final processing.

I'll probably throw a 2.5x or 5x PowerMate at my Bresser MC-100 (1400mm, f/14) scope some night and see what I get? A focal length of 7000mm would be interesting... 3500mm is far more realistic!

At one time I had a Celestron 8" Edge SCT which was really quite good for planets when used with a 2x PowerMate, i.e.: 4000mm focal length, which is about what I consider the minimum for good planetary imaging.

My brother helps with the scope Clark's refractor 20 in. He's in evergreen and has your issue also
