went for sunrise and stayed to catch the side lighting on the new leaves. Any comments for improvement appreciated

I may have added a gradient to the top half to darken the sky and tops of the trees. Then I would have tried to lighten the tones of the subject a tad. It will take some experimentation.

I think the picture is over all under exposed. Next fighting to understand the composition do you want to draw more attention to the land area or the water area 50/50. Cropping half of the water off the bottom would make for a better composition, still leaving some of the reflections.

I partially disagree. I think he wants to preserve the tree's reflection on the surface of the water.

it wasn't underexposed when I captured the shot, but I did pull the highlights down in post so that the sky would not look blown out. With the reflection that I got I was going for a more symmetrical composition. I did try cropping up from the bottom more per your suggestion and that could possibly work without making the top half of the picture to heavy. Thanks for the suggestions and your comments

Water reflection photos always have a charm. Your water is quiet, but for the fun of it take a look at Flamingpear free Flood or the new Flood 2 Plugins. You can stir up the water selectively and with control of degree.

Nice image. The only suggestion I have would be to crop in a bit, a little off the top and sides to emphasize the two trees more.

thanks for the suggestion I will check it out. I have never heard of this plugin. These are the kind of tips that we all come for, different ways of doing things that we didn't know existed

Thanks for looking and thanks for the suggestion. I have pulled this back up and cropped it more, some from the sides and some from the bottom, but I have not reposted because I am not sure that I like the results.
